ROBERT & JULIE 6TH DEC 2008
Robert & Julie braved the freezing cold on Saturday to welcome their families at the Dalmeny Park Country House Hotel for a fantastic wedding reception , after tying the knot last week in the fabulous location of Sandals Resort in St Lucia .
Meeting the couple on Saturday was a bit of a shock as they looked completely different with the great tan they picked up in St Lucia .
The weather in St Lucia looked idyllic, and we wish we were with them ,but we were privileged to be asked to complete their wedding album in sunny but cold Scotland .
The last photograph in their gallery was taken by Sandals , the rest by Pics and Blooms

LISA AND CHRIS 28TH NOV 2008
Looking out of your window yesterday you would never have believed it was November , it was bright and sunny and it didn,t rain ....... Lisa and Chris were married in St Collumkilles Church on what looked like a spring day , apart from it being freezing cold .
The ceremony went without a hitch and when the couple emerged into the winter sun Lisa drew gasps from the wellwishers in her stunning white tuille gown and fur cape , Chris wasn,t too bad looking either ????
The main formal photographs were taken inside the church as it was getting too cold to be outside , but you will see the stunning result in the photos with this blog.
When the formal photographs were finished the wedding party travelled onto the Sherbrooke Castle Hotel for more photographst and the long awaited reception.
Lisa and Chris are now heading off on a fantastic honeymoon to Antigua and New York

GARY & KIM 1ST NOV 2008
With all the terrible weather we have been having over the last few weeks it was great to see the rain stop and the sun come out for Gary & Kims wedding yesterday in the prestigeous Airth Castle in Falkirk.
Kim, her mum and the bridesmaids were so relaxed when we arrived to do the preparation shoot , while Gary and the guys had their photographs taken around the grounds of the castle .
The ceremony went without a hitch but not without a few emotional tears from some of the wedding party.
Later on after the signing of the registar , the couple were happy to come out for the photo shoot even though by this time it was getting bitterly cold they just kept grinning from ear to ear .
We think they were thinking of the fantastic 4 week honeymoon they were about go on to New Zealand & Australia .

ANGELA & WILLIAM 27TH SEPT 2008
Angela & William were married at the resort hotel The Seamill Hydro yesterday. At the start of the day we thought we were in for a lovely day with the weather looking promising, however as the couple said their vows the weather began to change to its usual Scottish drizzly day.
This made no difference to Angela though as she was still up for going to Porten Cross a few miles away for some romantic photos of just the two of them, and she is in for a surprise, even though the wind and rain were howling the couple got some spectacular photos together.
After the couples photoshoot we headed back to the hotel to get some more family photos which this time included the couples adorable baby daughter Louise.
Angela & Willaim are now off to Mexico for a romantic honeymoon ....

GILLIAN & DOUGLAS 23RD SEPT 2008
Yesterdays wedding took us by surprise , by that I mean we had NO rain , so it made photographing Gillian and Douglas's wedding in St Josephs church in Clarkston a real pleasure .
For the first time in weeks we were any able to go to a park [ Ross Hall] and capture some lovely images with the whole wedding party .
Once the formal group photographs were completed we had around 10 mins with Gillian & Dougas alone to get some intimate and fun photos of them together .
After the photographs in the park were finished we all went back to the watermill in Paisley where the rest of their family and friends were waiting .
The happy couple are now off for 2 weeks in Canada

LAURAS BOUDOIR SHOOT 14TH SEPT 2008
For the first time in our new studio in Langbank , we had the pleasure of doing a boudoir shoot with one of our favourite 2008 brides Laura .
From the moment we met Laura with her stunning eyes we knew she would make a perfect model for us, and there there was no asking her twice , she just instinctively knew what we were looking for in a gorgeous model .
Angela was the photographer and as she had worked with laura before, both the girls felt comfortable with each other so the shoot went great, with Laura herself adding a few ideas for the posing .
We have posted a few of the photos below , but when our new website go's live soon Laura will be featured both in the wedding and boudoir section.
Anyone interested in a boudoir shoot, should call us on 01475 54 0000 for details, a special offer boudoir shoot for xmas will be available soon for only 95.00
GEMMA & CRAIG 13TH SEPT 2008
Well what can I say Gemma & Craigs wedding at the Western House Hotel in Ayr was one of the wettest days of the year so far, however this made no difference to the couple they hardly even noticed the rain at all .
Gemma was stunning when she came down the stairs in her Ivory designer gown , she drew gasps for the crowd of wellwishers who were waiting to see her at the bottom of the stairs.
After the service conducted by Rev Graham we managed to get 10 mins in the fantastic gardens next to the Ayr golf course, before the heavens opened again and we had to make a dash for the hotel again.
The remainder of the photos were taken in the bridal suite , after which we left the couple to enjoy their reception with their guests .
Gemma & Craig are off next week on a long awaited honeymoon on a cruise ship.

TRACEY & JEREMY 30TH AUG 2008
Our lastest couple came over from Dublin to get married in the Dalmeny park Hotel in Barrhead . Originally from Glasgow, Tracey moved to be with Dublin born Jeremy . Their wedding went well apart from the bride being a little late , oh and one of the groomsmen having to turn up with a pair of jeans on instead of a kilt due to mix up with the kilt sizes.
The ceremony had a lovely symbolic lighting of 2 candles in memory of Traceys parents , this made the vows even more emotional to every one there .
After the ceremony the wedding party moved on to the lawn for the wedding photos , and the rain managed to stay off long enough to complete them there.
The couple are off tomorrow on a exciting honeymoon to Australia .

PAUL & DONNA 29TH AUG 2008
Well today we have a lovely wedding in Luss Parish church in Loch Lomond. The last time we were there it poured for most of the day,but today the weather was just perfect for Paul and Donna.
The day started of at Donnas home with her mum,dad and bridesmaid Laura , Donna was one of the calmest brides we have ever had , which was great because her dad Gordon was like a whirlwind going around the house it was hard keeping him at peace.........
Donna entered the church to the sounds of a string quartet ,which was not only lovely but very unusual. After the ceremony the couple emerged looking happy and relaxed to go down to the beach for the start of their photoshoot .
Paul and Donna held their reception in the gorgeous venue of Ross Priory in Gartocharn where more of their stunning photos were taken .
Now the couple are off on a fantastic honeymoon to the Maldives .
LAUREN , BRYAN & ELLIOT
last week we had the pleasure of photographing a lovely little boy called Elliot , who parents we photographed at their wedding last year .
Lauren was one of our favourite brides with her photo adorning our studio wall for many months . Now they are a little family, soon they will find some of their photographs on our new website which will be ready in the next few weeks.

JOANNE & RICHARD 23RD AUG 2008
Well for once we had a completely dry day when Joanne and Richard were married in the Kilbarchan West church.
When we arrived it was like meeting up with an ex brides group as we met 4 couples photographed by us in the past , including Joannes aunt and uncle who were married 12 years ago which Joanne was a sweet fresh faced flower girl at, [ my she has changed LOL].
The service went without a hitch even though Joanne was a little late. After the ceremony the wedding party went to the lovely Ross Hall Park for their formal photographs, during which we all had a bit of a laugh when Richard flashed a little more than he should have during the photos making the bridesmaids shriek with laughter .
After the formals the wedding party made their way back to the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew which was very strange for us , as this was the first wedding we have done there since we moved out of our office there last month .
Joanne & Richard are going on Honeymoon later, so I expect they will be calling soon to see their stunning photos.

DUNCAN & DEBRA ANN 15TH AUG 2008
Duncan & Debra Ann recently held their wedding on the picturesque village of Drymen at Loch Lomond.
The wedding was arranged to take place in the gorgeous outside grounds of the Buchanan Arms , but as luck would have it, the weather changed from a lovely sunny day to a grey rainy one just shortly before Debra Ann made her grand entrance.
This setback however did not dampen the couples day, they both continue to laugh [ and cry] through their emotional ceremony .
After the signing of the registar the sun returned and stayed out just long enough for the photos to be taken in the lovely gardens facing the hotel.
Duncan & Debra Ann are now away on cruise and we look forward to their return soon.

INTRODUCING BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY
Angela at Pics and Blooms is pleased and excited to announce a new style of photography being offered all of our female clients.
The art of Boudoir photography has been around since the 1920s, and has in the last year or two made a huge comeback. All women want to have a beautiful photo of themself, perhaps for their partner of just for them.
The photography is elegant, tasteful, sexy and provocative without ever being tacky.
As it is a woman photographing a woman you can be sure you will never feel uncomfortable.
The sessions are perfect for any woman no matter what age, and can include make up with a professional make up artist.
The photographs you see on the Blog were taken as a surprise wedding gift from Sarah Jane to her new Husband James, the look in his eyes when he saw the photos was just amazing.
Sarah Jane has kindly allowed us to use these AMAZING images for our blog, for which we thank her for.
Any enquiries for a boudoir session can be made either by email on enquiries@picsandblooms.co.uk or telephone on 01475 54 0000.
Prices start at only 75.00........ group bookings also available ie hen parties

DIANNE & FRANCIS 9th AUG 2008
The wedding of Dianne & Francis started off with one of the wettest days of the year, but that didn't stop the beaming grins from the couple when they arrived at St James Church Renfrew .
The service went without a hitch , and when the couple emerged from the church the rain had dried up enough for the wedding party to go to Pollok House for some more photographs.
We did have a laugh when Duncan [photographer]went down to take a photo of the couple on the bridge only to see the couple dissapear when they ran away from a swarm of bees, leaving him looking at an empty bridge .
After some photos were taken the bridal party then went on to Sherbrooke Castle to meet the rest of the guests and have a few more photo's taken on their famous stairs.
All in all we had a great day and we look forward to meeting Dianne & Francis when they return from their honeymoon in Madeira to show then their lovely photographs.

FIRST PORTRAIT IN OUR NEW STUDIO
After many months of nagging, our daughter Vicki finally got us to take some photos of her for her bebo page [ you know what its like, a plumber wont work in his own house, as a photographer will not take photos of his/her own family LOL]
Anyway Vicki came into the new studio armed with around 10 changes of clothes, but as the weather was so nice we decided to use the grounds of Finlaystone instead .
I am sure you will agree the grounds are lovely [ Vicki is not bad either LOL]
For anyone wishing a portrait taken give us a call on 01475 54 0000

NICOLA & STEPHEN 25TH JULY
On what seemed like the hottest day of the year so far, we had a great wedding in AIRTH CASTLE . Nicola seemed to be the calmest bride we have ever seen in years even though she had 4 bridesmaids 2 flowergirls and a page boy all running around her home, nothing seemed to flap her at all, Stephen also had 3 best men to help keep him calm.
The ceremony went without a hitch and it included the symbolic hand tying used in the film Braveheart, after which the couple emerged from the castle to the sounds of a pipe band, which was a surprise to all the guests. Even to seasoned wedding photographers it still made the hair on the back of our neck stand up it was so emotional.
After the photographs were taken and champagne was served on the lawn, the couple made the now customary walk down from the main hotel with their guests led by the pipes and drums.
This wedding was joy to be a part of, and we wish the happy couple all the best for their exciting honeymoon in the Maldives.
